Tradewinds has made many improvements over the past couple months to ensure we have a safe, efficient and healthy environment for your eye care needs. Please see the changes below that we have made and what you can expect upon arrival.
During the quarantine, we upgraded our systems to allow for the most up-to-date check-in process. You can complete or update your medical history from home on your PC, tablet, or phone and will only be asked for a quick tablet signature with your fingertip when you arrive. Rest assured, we will have cleaned all electronic devices between every patient. This will eliminate nearly all paperwork and unnecessary handling and transferring of papers between us, as well as making your visit as smooth and efficient as possible.
Frequent hand washing has proven to be the number one way to decrease your chances of transmitting COVID-19 and other viruses and bacteria. As much as we were washing up before, you can bet we are going through a lot of soap in this office. Doctors and staff will be washing before and after every patient encounter and we will also ask that upon entering the office, you wash your hands as well with the anti-microbial soap we provide. Keeping our patients, staff, and community safe is our number one priority.
Sanitizing will take place between every patient or family in the office. We clean all high traffic surfaces, patient care areas, optical surfaces, and restrooms with a germicidal bleach solution. Look for signage around our office that notate to our staff which rooms have been fully sanitized and are ready for you and which have been recently used. We are so excited to help you select that new pair of glasses or sunnies. We will be utilizing optical trays that you can store any frames you have tried on and we will be cleaning frames in hot soapy water before they are returned to the shelves. It’s also a great way to peruse and organize those yes’s, no’s, and maybe’s.
Our patient schedule has been modified to encourage social distancing. We have allowed plenty of time to provide concierge patient care and sanitize the office in preparation for the next appointment. We want you enjoy and look forward to the shopping experience of picking out those brand new glasses and discussing the best lenses for your lifestyle. Imagine having the entire boutique to yourself while you shop for glasses and enjoy a white wine. Doctors and staff will be conscious to respect a six foot distance while you are in the office.
Doctors and staff will be wearing KN95 masks for the duration of your visit. We ask that all patients also wear masks or a form of face covering while you are in the office. If you do not have a mask with you, we will be happy to provide you with one. Doctors and staff will also be wearing gloves for the duration of your visit and changed after every patient encounter. Just another layer of protection to keep everyone safe. We are all in this together!
When measurements and procedures must be taken that require a close working distance, PPE will be worn.
When you arrive for your appointment, we will ask you some simple entrance questions regarding your health and exposure to COVID-19. We will also use a non-contact forehead thermometer to screen for a fever. Anyone with a double reading of 100º F will be asked to reschedule and call their primary care provider. We also ask that patients limit who accompanies them to their appointment. Only the patient will be permitted in the exam room during the exam. For patients under 18 years of age, only one parent or guardian should accompany a minor during their visit. If you have had a recent fever, cough, shortness of breath, or other respiratory symptoms, we ask that you reschedule you appointment for a later date. The safety of our patients and community is our first priority.
Remember when we all ushered in a new decade with hopes, dreams, and a laundry list of ambitious resolutions? 2020 was the year we were all going to lose weight, advance our careers, travel more, cry less...
