Tradewinds made many improvements during the inital Covid-19 pandemic to ensure we have a safe, efficient and healthy environment for your eye care needs. Please see the changes below that we have made and what you can expect upon arrival.
During the quarantine, we upgraded our systems to allow for the most up-to-date check-in process. You can complete or update your medical history from home on your PC, tablet, or phone and will only be asked for a quick tablet signature with your fingertip when you arrive. Rest assured, we will have cleaned all electronic devices between every patient. This will eliminate nearly all paperwork and unnecessary handling and transferring of papers between us, as well as making your visit as smooth and efficient as possible.
Frequent hand washing has proven to be the number one way to decrease your chances of transmitting COVID-19 and other viruses and bacteria. As much as we were washing up before, you can bet we are going through a lot of soap in this office. Doctors and staff will be washing before and after every patient encounter and we will also ask that upon entering the office, you wash your hands as well with the anti-microbial soap we provide. Keeping our patients, staff, and community safe is our number one priority.
Sanitizing will take place between every patient or family in the office. We clean all high traffic surfaces, patient care areas, optical surfaces, and restrooms with a germicidal bleach solution. Look for signage around our office that notate to our staff which rooms have been fully sanitized and are ready for you and which have been recently used. We are so excited to help you select that new pair of glasses or sunnies. We will be utilizing optical trays that you can store any frames you have tried on and we will be cleaning frames in hot soapy water before they are returned to the shelves. It’s also a great way to peruse and organize those yes’s, no’s, and maybe’s.
Our patient schedule has been modified to encourage social distancing. We have allowed plenty of time to provide concierge patient care and sanitize the office in preparation for the next appointment. We want you enjoy and look forward to the shopping experience of picking out those brand new glasses and discussing the best lenses for your lifestyle. Imagine having the entire boutique to yourself while you shop for glasses and enjoy a white wine. Doctors and staff will be conscious to respect a six foot distance while you are in the office.
While masks are no longer mandated by the AOA, the doctors and staff may still wear a KN95 mask for the duration of your visit as it can help keep the transmission of other germs down. Patients are welcome to wear a masks if they so choose but it is no longer required by the state of NC. We are all in this together!
